Yaoyao could become the first Dendro character in Genshin Impact

The seven different elements are one of the core game features in Genshin Impact. Can Yaoyao become the first Dendro character to be released in one of the upcoming updates?

There is a total of seven different elements in Genshin Impact, all of which are attached to the game's character, except one. We are yet to see a playable Dendro element user in the world of Teyvat.

So far the only elemental reaction that includes Dendro is Burning. The grass is considered a Dendro object and will spread the burn effect around the area. The fact that this element only interacts with Pyro might be one of the reasons why we haven't seen a Dendro character yet. It would surely require a major change to the elemental reaction fighting mechanics of the game.

However, back in November a couple of leaks hinted that there is already at least one Dendro character in the making. According to a credible Genshin Impact leaker called Zeniet , Yaoyao was already in development back then.

Even though she's many fans expect her to be a five-star character considering that she will most likely be the first Dendro character in the game, many leaks are confirming that she will be a four-star, obtainable through quests just like the starting six also known as the free-to-play characters. It would make sense since the game gave us a free character of each element.

Looking at her model it's safe to say that she will be a catalyst weapon user which generally means that she will be able to apply Dendro elements through her normal attacks

According to another leak , she's expected to be released in the 1.5 update which should go live at the end of April, if miHoYo keep their routine of releasing updates approximately every six weeks.
