Genshin Impact is currently in development by miHoYo. The JRPG is set to launch on PS4, Android, iOS and PC later this month, with a Switch version coming at a later date.
Genshin Impact just got a new trailer. The splendidly animated new short offers the viewers a quick glimpse into the upcoming game's story.
The new trailer - The Boy and the Whirlwind - has been taken in a new direction and features a gorgeous, animated style, in lieu of the actual in-game footage, probably to keep from enraging any more of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's passionate fans.
The game's announcement trailer from back in 2019 angered one Zelda fan so much that he smashed his PS4 at ChinaJoy in protest.
Genshin Impact's new story teaser The Boy and the Whirlwind was shared with the description:
"The sitting Anemo Archon, Barbatos, was once a single, shapeless wisp among the thousand winds.
In Old Mondstadt, ruled by the lord of storms, he encountered a young boy..."
The story trailer's narration is spoken in verse which is a perfect fit for its animation style. Even though it has been criticised for heavily borrowing inspiration from Zelda: Breath of the Wild in some areas, Genshin Impact looks like it's shaping up to be its very own game.
The upcoming JRPG boasts a large cast of characters and a fine variety of locations to travel and explore.
