A recent leak on the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor Discord channel apparently revealed the release date of one of the most popular Genshin Impact characters - Ayaka.
The release of a new character is probably one of the most exciting events in Genshin Impact. A couple of recent leaks hinted on the two-character banners we could see in update 1.6, Kazuha and Klee.
One of the most popular characters in Teyvat is for sure Ayaja Kamisato who was part of the game during its beta phase. Ayaka is the princess of the renowned House Kamisato of Inazuma. She is known for her elegance and nobility. Ayaka is a five-star Cryo element user and her weapon of choice is a sword.
A recent leak on the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor Discord channel apparently revealed the two character banners we could see in update 1.7. This update might also be referred to as update 2.0. Apparently, the release date of the banner is July 21, and a character called Yoimiya is supposed to be the first character on the banner and Ayaka will come around three weeks later. This means that we could expect Ayaka to arrive around August 11.
A couple of weeks ago one of the most credible Genshin Impact leakers revealed a video featuring some of Ayaka's animations.
It should be noted that the animations were part of Closed Beta 1 and she might go through some small changes before her official release.
Players are still unhappy that we didn't get a new region since the Dragonspine event back at the start of 2021 when we had both Albedo and Ganyu featured on separate banners. However recent leak from a credible Genshin Impact leaker called Arkywzx revealed that we could finally get a new region to explore called Inazuma. Inazuma is one of the seven regions in the world of Teyvan and the home of Raiden Shogun Baal, the Electro Archon.

Arkywzx speculates that 1.6 may release with Inazuma's two islands, but that the main city won't be available at the initial launch of Inazuma. This means that the whole region of Inazuma could be released with update 1.7/2.0.
