Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s second beta weekend adds Zodiac, Combat Outpost, Hijack and a new 6v6 map, with further spawn improvements.

Next weekend’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 second beta will be hitting all platforms with a bunch of content to play. That includes a new Resurgence map for Warzone as well as another multiplayer mode and 6v6 map.

You can expect Modern Warfare 4’s second beta weekend to be a busy one for players across all platforms. The beta will also allow Nintendo Switch 2 players to participate for the first time, as the weekend's beta test will be open to all players on supported platforms. In addition to new content, Infinity Ward said it is addressing one of the biggest gripes from players during the first weekend: spawn camping.

Zodiac Brings a New Resurgence Map

The Resurgence map joining Modern Warfare 4 for next weekend’s beta is called Zodiac. Developed by Beenox, Zodiac is another map designed to focus on player encounters and tight quarters combat.

There are a lot of points of interest players can fight over when tackling Zodiac, so fans of Resurgence mode should definitely check out this new map when the beta launches.

Hijack Adds a New Multiplayer Objective

As for Modern Warfare multiplayer, one of the big new additions is Hijack. This multiplayer mode is an objective based mode that revolves around a data spike.

Teams can score points by planting the data spike on top of one of two communications towers. You can also run around and pick the data spike up and whack enemies with it if they get in your way.

Combat Outpost Expands Ground War

Ground War fans should definitely try out Combat Outpost during next weekend’s beta. It essentially plays like Ground War, but on top of all that there are outposts players can try and control.

Once a team controls an outpost for a certain period of time, they can choose to “secure” it. Doing so will reward them with additional support that can help their team win, but will make it harder for the other team to take back.

Lithium Is a New 6v6 Map

Last but not least, we have one more multiplayer mode for traditionalists. Modern Warfare 4 is getting a new 6v6 map called Lithium.

Lithium joins Combat Outpost and Hijack as a multiplay mode available for players to tinker around with during the beta. While you’re doing all that, spawn points are being looked at by Infinity Ward.
