Gearbox Software could reveal the next Borderlands game at PAX East 2019. The latest tease on Twitter shows an image representative of Borderlands' universe with 28 March as the date and Boston, MA as the location of the potential reveal.
It looks like Gearbox Software will finally announce their next Borderlands game in just a couple of weeks. According to the latest tease on Twitter, the devs are gearing up for the official reveal, set for 28 March 2019.
You can see the image which Gearbox Software shared below, and it features Borderlands' signature cell-shaded art along with the date, location and "EXIT 3" just at the top right corner.
This suggests that a Borderlands 3 reveal is planned for Pax East 2019, which is taking place in Boston, on 28 March 2019.
Gearbox Software earlier confirmed that they will attend Pax East 2019, where they will share "never-before-seen reveals, exclusives, and surprises".
In January 2019, a ratings board post suggested that the original Borderlands game is getting released in a new, remastered version - Borderlands: Game of the Year.
It's possible that Gearbox Software will have more than one Borderlands announcement on Pax East. Also, it wouldn't be the first time they announce remasters at the convention. Back in 2017, Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition was announced along with Duke Nukem as a playable character.
Anyway, it's been almost five years since we got the last major instalment in the series - Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel!. Since then, three spin-off games were released - Borderlands Legends, Tales from the Borderlands and Borderlands Online.
Well, almost two years of waiting isn't exactly soon, but it looks like the wait will be over in just a few weeks.
Borderlands is critically acclaimed shooter RPG with the unique visual style and as of August 2015, more than 26 million copies of Borderlands games had been sold, 13 million of which are Borderlands 2.
