Borderlands 2's heavily rumoured DLC has been leaked via Steam Store and it's named Commander Lilith & The Fight For Sanctuary. It will offer a couple of new additions and explain the period between Borderlands 2 and Borderlands 3.
After many rumours and leaks, it looks like Borderlands 2's DLC is finally set to be revealed in just a couple of days - on E3 2019 - as preparation for Borderlands 3 release. The official Steam page for the new DLC went live last night before it was quickly removed.
However, the internet never forgets and thanks to ResetEra forum members, a promo artwork for the DLC along with a full product description were grabbed before the listing was removed.
The DLC is named Commander Lilith & The Fight For Sanctuary and it looks like it's coming on 09 June 2019 for free, if the Steam page included correct details. According to the description, the new DLC is a new adventure that sets the stage for the upcoming Borderlands 3. Apparently, the DLC should explain the events between Borderlands 2 and Borderlands 3.
"Sanctuary is under siege, the Vault's map has been stolen and a toxic gas is poisoning Pandora," the description states. The DLC will also introduce new bosses and players will be able to explore new zones, get new loot, which includes an entirely new tier beyond Legendary.
Furthermore, the level cap has been increased to 80 for returning players while those who are just starting can automatically boost to level 30 and dive straight into the action.
In the latest patch files for Borderlands 2, modders have discovered a weapon named Puissant Behemot, which apparently is a Rainbow rarity item above Legendary. A lot of earlier leaks point out that this DLC is indeed the next batch of Borderlands content but nothing is confirmed at the moment by Gearbox or 2K Games.
Fortunately, we won't have to wait too long for the official confirmation as E3 2019 is just around the corner.
