Video games retailer GameStop shared a list of top 10 most pre-ordered games after E3 2019. Despite the lack of public gameplay footage, Call of Duty Modern Warfare reboot managed to top the list leaving behind Pokemon Sword and Shield.
It looks like the world's biggest gaming expo - E3 2019 - once again boosted pre-orders for the majority of big games that appeared at the show. Retailer GameStop shared their own list of top ten most pre-ordered games since E3 2019 ended.
The list is topped by Infinity Ward's Call of Duty Modern Warfare reboot, which interestingly, was only shown behind closed doors and no footage has been revealed to the public whatsoever. However, the reactions from YouTubers that saw the gameplay were quite positive, which could be the reason for increased pre-orders.
Pokemon Sword and Shield has also seen a lot of pre-orders according to GameStop. Despite the backlash due to the announcement that players will only be allowed to transfer their Pokemon from the "Galar Pokedex" from previous generations, Pokemon Sword and Shield is still one of the most pre-ordered games at Gamestop.
, GameStop's list was topped by Cyberpunk 2077, which is now at fourth, while Final Fantasy VII Remake is in third. There aren't many surprises on the list as most of these are highly anticipated titles. Here's the full list:
1. Call of Duty Modern Warfare
2. Pokemon Sword/Shield
3. Final Fantasy VII Remake
4. Cyberpunk 2077
5. Borderlands 3
6. Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch)
7. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
8. Gears 5
9. Super Mario Maker 2
10. Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled
GameStop also shared a couple of interesting stats regarding this year's E3 show. They say that during the week of E3, they saw an increase of 63 per cent in pre-orders on new titles, once again showing the importance of E3 for the developers and publishers.
Keep in mind that these are retail pre-orders, which can be a bit misleading as many gamers prefer digital versions these days.
