Earlier this year, the upcoming multiplayer shooter FragPunk from developer Bad Guitar Studio and publisher NetEase Games burst onto the scene.
Further to that, fans learned more at the recent Tokyo Game Show, including the dates for the game's closed beta-a test set to run from October 10th to October 21st, 2024.
Sign-ups for the closed beta are now available, and players are going to get a pretty decent amount of content when they participate. A total of six maps and modes will be available in this beta, offering a variety of different environments and ways of play for participants.
The playable character count comes out to a total of 12, each with their own set of abilities and traits. They will also have 17 weapons in total to test various ways of combat.
One of the major highlights with FragPunk is Shard Cards, a staple mechanism that provides an extra layer of strategy to how the gameplay is created.
These will also form part of the beta for players to try.Another important feature is the inclusion of cross-play, which allows players on Xbox Series X/S and PC together to enter the action, as well as make the game inclusive and competitive.
This indeed will enhance multiplayer in the game by ensuring a wide base of players. A new trailer also dropped, offering a better look at the fast-paced combat and unique mechanics in store within the game, along with what to expect within the beta.
FragPunk already has a slated launch set for sometime in 2025 for the Xbox Series X/S and PC. With its unique gameplay and an entirely fresh take on multiplayer shooters, it's a title that greatly brings excitement among fans.
