Twitter user Fortnite News shared screenshots of mined files which suggest that Fortnite's Season 7 could potentially end with an earthquake. The files also revealed new assets for the Snowfall skin which could be tied to the event.
Fortnite data miners have discovered files that reveal events which could signal the ending of Season 7. Twitter user Fortnite News shared screenshots of his findings, and the code appears to reference an earthquake event which could lead to Season 8.
If true, the earthquake could change the map dramatically and result in land cracks and destruction of some locations like Tilted Towers.
Of course, this is purely speculation at the moment, but the hints from mined data files were more than enough to start a blizzard of speculation among players. Some of them claim that the fire prisoner could have something to do with the earthquake, while others suggest that Polar Peak could turn out to be a volcano.
Speaking of the Prisoner, mining also revealed The SnowFall Challenge Skin. The skin is called The Prisoner and it comes as a reward for all players who complete a total of 60 Season 7 challenges. Once players unlock the skin, it can be leveled up further as you can see in the photo below.
Along with the skin, two loading screens were also leaked. One of them shows the Prisoner leaving the Polar Peak castle while the other features him sitting by a campfire. These loading screens could also suggest that The Prisoner may take part in the events leading to Season 8.
These uncovered files could be connected and indicate one major event which will introduce changes for Season 8. Players will have to wait a bit more for the official reveal though, as Epic Games recently confirmed that Fortnite's Season 7 will end on 28 February 2019.
So if you're yet to complete these challenges, that's another month to try and get the Prisoner skin. As for the latest, , it brings chiller grenades, new limited-time event and weapons, along with a bunch of minor fixes and improvements.
