Fortnite: Battle Royale vs. PUBG

Epic is coming to get you. It's a scary thought really and now it's perfectly clear why. Namely, Fortnite: Battle Royale has exceeded PUBG's revenue in February by a hefty margin and Twitch figures spell even more trouble for Bluehole.

Market research firm Superdata's recent report reveals that Fortnite: Battle Royale has made as much as $126/£89 million as opposed to PUBG's $103/£73 million in February. Once you put things into context though, it gets even worse for the unknown player.

Namely, Fortnite is free to play and all of its revenue came from people buying in-game cosmetics. PUBG's revenues, in the meantime, were mostly down to the $30 price and besides - PUBG Corp's revenues last peaked back in December once the game came out of Early Access. Not that it looked like it, mind you.

Fortnite: Battle Royale's revenue, on the other hand, is on a constant upward trajectory it seems. The game has been constantly updated and Epic even to focus on their battle royale title, which seems to have been a great decision on so many levels.

The game's Twitch figures have recently as well as earlier title holder League of Legends on a daily basis, but the latest surge in popularity is almost scary. With looming on the horizon, it truly looks as if PUBG's days are numbered, at least when it comes to the survival game throne.

Fortnite's been growing in leaps and bounds, with the iOS version conquering Apple's App Store in a single day. With PUBG still delivering trivial updates while continuing to ignore massive amount of cheating, it almost becomes sad.

Well, we did warn you - Epic's coming to getcha.
