Developed by Flaming Fowl and Mediatonic, Fable Fortune is set to launch this week. The developer studios teamed up after an unsuccessful Kickstarter campaign. There's a £9.99 "Fable Fortune Founder’s Pack" available on Steam and Microsoft's own store.

Fable Fortune is a collectible card game developed by Flaming Fowl Studios. It's set to leave early access on 22 February 2018. The game will be free to play and go live for PC and Xbox One.

Flaming Fowl is a studio that employs several ex-Lionhead Studios members. The studio originally tried to fund Fable Fortune using Kickstarter. Unfortunately, the Kickstarter campaign failed to provide the necessary funding and only earned $86,000 of its $365,900 goal one week before the campaign was set to end.

Around that time, Flaming Fowl cancelled the campaign, saying that they've secured a new source of funding. That's when Mediatonic was attached to the project and received top billing in promotional materials. The studio made games such as Hatoful Boyfriend and the Amateur Surgeon series.

Fable Fortune was originally pitched as a free to play title to its backers on Kickstarter. It entered Steam Early Access and Xbox Live Game Preview in July 2017. Fable Fortune has its players pick one out of six different heroes. It also features quests and a co-op mode.

The game will launch for Windows 10 and on Steam as well as the Xbox Marketplace. Currently, there's a £9.99 "Fable Fortune Founder’s Pack" available. The Pack grants  players "over $40 worth of in-game items, including 20 card packs, the exclusive Flaming Fowl Trophy Card, and the very rare (you might even say ‘Fabled’) Giant Egg card".

The news about the Fable franchise have been scarce as of late, but it was recently reported that a franchise reboot is being worked on by Playground Games - the studio responsible for bringing you Forza Horizon.
