During the latest Xbox Series X games presentation, you may have seen Everwild, a gorgeous looking new IP coming from Rare, the studio you may know for Sea of Thieves.

Well, if you're a bit older in the tooth, you're probably screaming what about GoldenEye 007 on Nintendo 64, but we're merely using the last example, not the game that permanently installed itself into our collective consciousness.

As for Everwild, we're still waiting on more information about Rare's wondrous new IP, whose announcement was made at XO19. Granted, the introduction seems as mysterious as the latest trailer, but it sure isn't lacking in eye candy.

"Building on that debut, this brand new Xbox Games Showcase trailer offers hints of previously unseen features including more animal species, some of the rituals available to the eternals and a first glimpse of the mystical beings so integral to this world", Rare wrote.

It's pretty clear there's some serious tree-huggery going' on in Everwild, and we're loving it. The animals, a slew of which has been unveiled in the two trailers, clearly play an important role in the in-game world, but we're not sure of the specifics.

Knowing Rare and their departure from standard shooters and action titles with Sea of Thieves, it makes us think Everwild is also of that ilk, even if it does immediately suggest an RPG of some sort.

Either way, we'll be keeping an eye out, and it definitely helps that Everwild looks like a magical experience far removed from the action-packed shooters that dominate the AAA landscape these days.

We've included both Everwild trailers just in case, but if you're more interested in screenshots, you can find some in the gallery below.
