Epic's 15 Days of Free Games event continues with a proper gaming delicacy, as we wave Dargest Dungeon goodbye and say hi to sim gem My Time at Portia.
"Start a new life in the enchanting town of Portia! Restore your Pa's neglected workshop to its former glory by fulfilling commissions, growing crops, raising animals, and befriending the quirky inhabitants of this charming post-apocalyptic land", the blurb reads.
Developed by Chinese studio Pathea Games, My Time at Portia has built quite a devoted following on each of the platforms it launched, i.e. PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
The team drew inspiration from the iconic work down by Studio Ghibli, which in layman's terms means there's no shortage of peculiar and beautiful themes as well as characters.
If we had to draw a parallel to another game, then we'd recommend My Time at Portia to Stardew Valley fans. It's the closest we're willing to get to comparison, as both games feature own distinctive style, but this is the sort of experience you're getting.
We've seen the leaked list of games for Epic's 15 Days of Free Games a while back, and so far it seems to be accurate to the letter. Unless Epic change their mind and shake things up, December 27, 2020, should bring Night in the Woods.
Night in the Woods is a glorious narrative adventure that aims for the mood and feel rather than flashy graphics to drive its point. And the point is quite an emotional storyline that flows beautifully as players follow the adventures of college dropout Mae Borowski, as she tries to pick up where she left off before she went away.
