Epic Games have started teasing Fortnite fans with potential content for Fortnite's Season 8. The limited info that is available so far mostly points to Loot Lake and Wailing Woods as the future points of interest as the map changes.

Fortnite Season 8 will be themed around pirates, which is all but confirmed by Epic Games. They took to Fortnite's official Twitter account to post a teaser with the picture seen above and a caption in the form of a poem saying:

"X Marks The Spot

Treasure abound,

Loot that has been lost,

Can always be found.

4 days to Season 8."

Pirate theme is obvious in these lines, especially considering their ever-persistent focus on looting. The word "loot" in the second line could either be referring to regular looting or could potentially hint at changes to Loot Lake. Fans are already hopefully speculating about a lake with actual depth and swimming animations but Epic Games never hinted or confirmed anything of the sort.

Others are thinking about the possibility of Epic adding ships to the game instead of the planes, which seems like a more plausible theory at the moment but just like the swimming animations, it is only theory so far. One change is almost confirmed, however, as Donald Mustard usually teases map changes on his Twitter. This time around, he changed his location to Wailing Woods, where to forest happened to be lately.

More importantly, Epic Games have released a set of challenges for late February 2019. Usually, it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but completing a part of these challenges will unlock Season 8's Battle Pass for free. If this happens to be the case, it will be the first Battle Pass to be available for free.

Epic Games recently reported that Fortnite had the biggest concurrent player count ever, despite Apex Legends being off to a great start, but one has to wonder if the first free Battle Pass is specifically an incentive to keep players invested in Fortnite instead of switching to Apex.
