Bethesda Game Studios announced that the new mobile-only game set in the world of Elder Scrolls, Elder Scrolls: Castles, will be released worldwide on September 10, 2024. The game was already available in some limited regions, but now it is confirmed that it will be released globally, without region restrictions on both the Google Play Store and Apple Store.
Elder Scrolls: Castles was made by the same team that previously made Fallout Shelter, the game with the same concept but only set inside the Fallout universe. Since this game proved to be very successful, it's not surprising that Bethesda decided to take such a step.
Given that the Elder Scrolls series is one of the most popular among gamers with a massive fan base and that there hasn't been a true Elder Scrolls game since the release of Elder Scrolls: Online in 2014, fans have been eagerly awaiting a genuine Elder Scrolls experience.
Of course, this mobile game cannot be considered a true Elder Scrolls experience, but it definitely can scratch the itch the fans felt all those years without a new Elder Scrolls game. Many fans will probably wait for Elder Scrolls 6 without venturing into a comforting solution in the form of a mobile game, but the game will be out there, so take it or leave it; it's all up to you.
Given that it's a mobile game, you can't expect the same level of production as a full-fledged title. Essentially, Elder Scrolls: Castles is a game where players design their own rooms and other elements within the Elder Scrolls universe. From these rooms, they can collaborate, complete quests, gather resources, and manage their own little kingdom.
