The Elder Scrolls: Blades, a mobile spin-off of the Elder Scrolls series has been delayed to early 2019 was confirmed on the game's official Twitter profile. Bethesda originally announced late 2018 as the release date for their new RPG.
Bethesda's new RPG for mobile devices has been delayed by a couple of months and will release in early 2019 according to the Elder Scrolls: Blades official Twitter account.
The free-to-play RPG was announced on E3 2018 and it was originally scheduled for a late 2018 release but no specific date was revealed. The fact that Bethesda didn't have the exact release date with just a month left in the year shows that The Elder Scrolls: Blades was never destined to see the light of the day in 2018.
In the tweet announcing the delay, Bethesda did not explain the reasons behind their decision. Instead, they suggested fans sign up for early access on the official website but didn't say when it will become available.
We wonder if the current messy state of Fallout 76 has anything to do with the delay. It's possible that Bethesda are shifting their focus on fixing the issues on the postapocalyptic multiplayer RPG. Whatever the reason for the delay is, it looks like Bethesda just can't get away from bad news since Fallout 76's launch.
The Elder Scrolls: Blades is a full-fledged Elder Scrolls game on mobile and Bethesda said they're including hand-crafted and procedurally generated dungeons, customisation, city building along with a PVP mode called the Arena. The game will be playable in two modes - landscape and portrait and players will be able to control their characters with simple hand gestures.
Bethesda set a console-quality experience on mobile as their main goal, but it's hard to expect the depth and vast open worlds of main-line Elder Scrolls games.

All in all, we'll have to wait another couple of months to see if Bethesda actually delivers this time as many similar promises for Fallout 76 were broken by the developer. Hopefully, they turn the tables with their mobile adventure.
