Diablo 3’s Necromancer closed beta went live yesterday. The beta will stay closed for its entire duration. If you've applied, there should be an e-mail waiting for you.
Diablo 3’s Necromancer "invitation only" closed beta went live yesterday.
How do you know if you're invited? Check your Blizzard app, or your e-mail.
Blizzard has said that the number of invites is limited and participants are to be chosen based on a number of factors including their playtime and system specs. If selected, you should be able to install the Necromancer Beta Test from the drop-down menu in the launcher and go reanimate various corpses to your heart's content.

In addition to being chosen to access the beta, you'll be able to transfer the characters from your regular Diablo III account into the Necromancer test. This will be possible one gameplay region at a time, so if you choose to "copy" characters from a different region, any previous beta characters will be deleted. You can do this once every 24 hours.
The Necromancer was announced during the last year's BlizzCon. The race is described as masters of the dark arts, who possess "the powers of life and death necessary to restore the Balance! Necromancers are powerful spell casters who lay waste to their enemies using curses and reanimation—along with an obedient cadre of pets. This new class employs a controlled gameplay style using the raw materials of life: blood and bone."

The beta will, unfortunately, stay closed until the end.
Along with the Necromancer, the beta also features new zones: The Moors and the Temple of the Firstborn, as well as Challenge Rifts and Set Dungeons.
The zones can be accessed in Adventure Mode and include new bounties.
