Traction was seen as a necessary quality of life feature rather than a mod that enhances gameplay so Destiny 2 will remove it and improve everything for controllers.
Controllers have a bit of a different experience compared to the mouse and keyboard in Destiny 2. The hardware is inherently limited when it comes to turning speed and the hectic situations Destiny 2 often throws at the players require both good reactions and quick, precise mechanics but the latter was not possible with the limits imposed on the console players.
This should change drastically with Season 15, when controllers get several improvements across the board. The first among them is the removal of Traction mod that would take up a slot on your boots only to make the game playable in PvP.
You will no longer need to worry about turning speed while sprinting as you will have an additional option to deal with it. The sprint turn scalar option will span from 0.3 to 0.8 and everyone will be able to customise the turning speed to their liking.
On top of that, controller sensitivity options will be doubled in scale. The ones that currently exist, from one to 10, will remain as they are but should you wish to turn around faster, you will be able to do so as the slider was expanded with options from 11 to 20.
Sounds good? Well, there is more. ADS sensitivity modifier will also be added, ranging from 0.5 to 1.5, allowing players to player with faster overall sensitivity but make it slower for those precise shots when they are needed.
