Fans of Desperados series will have 16 June 2020 to look forward to as this is the date when the latest entry in the franchise will become available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
PC players can pre-order the game already while digital pre-orders for consoles will start soon so don't panic if you don't see the option on your preferred console's store yet. To sweeten the deal, the Deluxe Edition will be sold in these pre-orders at the price of the standard one but for some reason, the bonuses are not posted in a clearly visible place.
Keep in mind that it could be worth waiting for a review or two to kick in before committing your money.
Many things that gave the original Desperados and the sequel the legendary status with the fans will be returning. Five different characters will be at the player's disposal, each of them featuring unique skills. Three of them have been featured previously, while Isabelle Moreau and Hector Mendoza are the newcomers.
While the hardcore nature of the game may be punishing, there will be "countless different ways to overcome any obstacle" so quick thinking on the fly will be key for the classic mode.
On the other hand, there will also be the Showdown mode which will introduce the real-time with pause gameplay, along the lines of some CRPGs. This will undoubtedly subtract from the challenge of overcoming Desperados III's obstacles but it will be optional.
While the player-controlled characters in the games along the lines of Commandos and Desperados are prone to dying extremely quickly, should they come under enemy fire, the developers made sure to note that careful planning and execution can lead to laying waste to the enemies that outnumber the titular band of misfits.
