Hideo Kojima's mysterious game Death Stranding could be a two-platform release according to the latest hint from PlayStation 4 Lead Architect Mark Cerny. The game may release on both PlayStation 4 and Sony's next-generation PlayStation.

Death Stranding is probably one of the most, if not the most mysterious game in the last few years. Hideo Kojima's upcoming creation is becoming weirded with each new trailer and comments from Mads Mikkelsen, Norman Reedus and people who had the opportunity to see what the game is actually about are not helping us to understand it either.

Another mystery is Death Stranding's release date. At the moment, there's nothing to suggest the potential launch date, but the latest hints from PlayStation 4 Lead Architect Mark Cerny could shed some light on that.

In an interview with Wired , Cerny shared a lot of exclusive details about Sony's next-generation PlayStation console but when asked about Kojima's Death Stranding, and if Kojima's game will release on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, a Sony spokesperson in the room quickly answered that the game would be released for PS4.

However, Cerny did not confirm the statement and according to Wired, Cerny’s "smile and pregnant pause" at the time of the question invited everyone in the room to think that Death Stranding could also release on PlayStation 5 and become a two-platform release.

Of course, Cerny's reaction to the question doesn't confirm anything, but it certainly adds fuel to some earlier speculations about Death Stranding release on current and next-gen consoles.

Kojima recently confirmed that Death Stranding is slightly behind schedule, which again, suggests that PlayStation 5 release is becoming increasingly possible. Kojima did talk about a potential PS5 release in 2017. Back then, he said that the game is coming to PS4 but of course, that was a while ago and it's possible that launch plans changed along the way.
