The creator and producer of the iconic horror franchise Dead Space, Glen Schofield seems to be interested in working with EA once again, potentially on a new Dead Space game.
Schofield recently posted on social media X, thanking the fans for all the support and kind words regarding Dead Space and hinting that he would love to do another game.
"First, thank you so much for the kind words regarding Dead Space. Looking back, EA gave me the support & opportunity to bring it to life. It would be cool to do a new one," Schofield wrote on X.
This doesn't come as a surprise since Dead Space is a franchise that Glen Schofield helped create and it's obvious that he'd love to work on it again. However, it's not up to him since EA own the IP and they don't seem to have any interest in making another Dead Space game.
According to some earlier rumours, Dead Space 2 Remake was at one point in development but EA decided to cancel the game after Dead Space Remake sold very poorly.
This paints a bleak picture for a potential new Dead Space game that Glen Schofield wants to make as EA probably wanted to use the remake to see if there's still interest in the Dead Space franchise among gamers before investing a bunch of money into a big sequel or reboot.
In addition, Schofield's last game, the spiritual successor to Dead Space called The Callisto Protocol was also a commercial flop, just months after the game's release.
So, if you ask me, I'd say that the chances that Glen Schofield returns to EA and gets a chance to create a new Dead Space game seem very slim for all the reasons mentioned above.
