Days Gone's full map size has been revealed in the latest screenshots shared by Gamereactor. Along with the map size, the screenshots also reveal a couple of missions which include side quest Bounty Hunter and story mission I remember.
With just over a month until the release of SIE Bend Studio's highly anticipated zombie action adventure Days Gone, the developers have started to share many details regarding the game's mechanics and content.
One thing they didn't talk about in their previous interviews and videos is the map size and mission types. Well, thanks to the GameReactor we now have a first proper look at the full map size and a couple of missions which appeared on the map during their playthrough.
As expected, the map looks huge with a lot of cliffs and canyons. Unfortunately, most of it is undiscovered and except for the two mountain roads, the rest of the map is covered in grey and white filter which makes it a bit tough to find some interesting locations.
Screenshots also reveal a couple of objectives which include a side quest and one mission from the main story. The first one is named Bounty Hunter and the objective is to "return the tire iron as proof of the kill" while the latter is named I Remember and it includes chasing down a "Nero black" helicopter.
Nero or National Emergency Response Organisation is a government organisation in Days Gone that tried and failed to stop the epidemic. Their outposts and stations can be found all over the map and they are a great place to loot medical supplies and other materials.
Additionally, the map shows a couple of icons for camps, player's motorbike and some sort of hazardous zones. Map UI also reveals the day counter with "731 days gone".
While this certainly isn't a proper reveal where we could see the uncovered map with numerous icons and objectives, it sheds some light at the size and overall map design. SIE Bend Studio should share more details as we get closer to the release date which is set for 26 April 2019.
Thanks, GameReactor .
