Relic's Dawn of War III released for Windows PC about a month and a half ago, and Feral Interactive didn't take long to adapt the game for Linux and Mac operating systems. Dawn of War III is launching for these systems today.
Real-time strategy is at home on PC. No amount of modifying was able to adapt the genre for consoles yet, but if you can't cross platforms, you can at least make sure your game is playable on every PC with the hardware to run it, regardless of operating system.
, who specialise in this kind of thing, have made possible for Dawn of War III. Relic's latest RTS game has received generally favourable reviews on release, and you can now check it out for yourself on Mac and Linux operating systems as well.
Dawn of War III is a RTS blending traditional base building RTS mechanics, with a bit of modern micro-intensive elements and a healthy dose of MOBA-like features thrown into the mix.
"Dawn of War III will be become available for Mac and Linux at 12pm BST / 7am EDT / 4am PDT on 8 June 2017", is the official announcement, so it should already be available in your area.
Running the game on your OS of choice will cost you the standard of price entry for a AAA release, £40. If you happen to notice that the price on the App Store is different in your region, that is just Apple being Apple and can be attributed to their pricing policy.
"The Mac App Store uses a universal tiering system to set the price of games and other applications, meaning prices cannot be set individually per currency. This tiering system takes into account different exchange rates and sales taxes, which sometimes results in games costing more or less than their counterparts on Steam", Feral Interactive explained in todays announcement.
