LCK and world champions are undergoing some changes in the top lane as they announced that Khan has been acquired, lending credibility to rumours that Nuguri won't be staying with them.

Damwon Gaming had an extremely powerful performance at Worlds 2020 where the team dropped only three games across the entire tournament before lifting the Summoner's Cup. All of their players excelled at one point or another but Nuguri tended to grab the spotlight more often than not.

However, it appears that he will not be staying with the current world champions, following the rumours the star top laner would switch teams after he went for free agency on November 16, 2020.

On November 27, 2020, Damwon Gaming announced that they signed Kim "Khan" Dong-ha, who has had stints with some of the renowned teams in the past few years, including Kingzone DragonX, SKT T1 and FunPlus Phoenix.

Damwon Gaming will be the third team that he joined in less than three years that has also won a world championship at some point. Interestingly enough, Khan wasn't on any of those team's rosters when they did though.

That said, it would be unfair to judge him as a player not capable of playing at the pinnacle of League of Legends esports as he has proven otherwise time and again.

With a powerhouse like Khan in top lane, it is all but confirmed that DWG will not be pursuing Nuguri any longer and the player will continue his career under a different flag.
