Cyberpunk 2077's developer CD Project Red have revealed that they will not be showing off their game at this week's The Game Awards and while they'll be attending, they'll be showing more of the game once they think it's ready for it.

CDPR's community lead Marcin Momot broke the news via Twitter, where he wrote, "We're looking forward to seeing all the reveals and announcements during this year's The Game Awards, however we're not going to be showing anything there ourselves."

The news is a bit of a cold shower for fans of the game who were hoping to catch a few more glimpses of CDPR's quite ambitious undertaking. The company are sticking to their own timeline though and Momot went on saying that they will share more of Cyberpunk 2077 once they're ready.

This means that CDPR joins Rocksteady Studios, who also announced they won't be announcing The Game Awards. By the way, they also confirmed they're not working on Superman so there goes that rumour but their in September means that Batman: Arkham Knight's maker is definitely up to something.

Back to CDPR and Cyberpunk 2077 though. While we're as disappointed as the next guy for not being able to see more of what CDPR have in store for us, we still admire the company for sticking to their own tempo.

After all, Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most ambitious titles in development, and arguably ever, so in our book - they can take as much time as they'd like. It's not like following up on The Witcher 3's stellar success is an easy task to begin with and CDPR have got all eyes on them anyway.

In their recent investor call, CDPR revealed that Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales had a really , although that had more to do with the unrealistically raised expectations than the game's quality. Still, they're hoping its fortunes will change in time.

CDPR Cyberpunk 2077 in detail, revealing that The Witcher 3 served as a financial platform and confidence booster to undertake such an ambitious project. It turns out that Geralt brought about a renaissance in almost every segment of development in CDPR, from motion capture to storytelling.
