CD Projekt Red have confirmed their attendance at E3 2019, which will feature an hour-long gameplay demonstration of Cyberpunk 2077 to the select few behind closed doors, but rumour has it that their planned 2019 release is not happening.

According to Kotaku's Jason Schreier, we're more likely to see Cyberpunk 2077 in 2020.

"I've heard from three sources that Cyberpunk was aiming for 2019, but belief around the studio was that it was an unrealistic target. I expect first half 2020 or maybe even an E3 announcement of 2019, then a delay to 2020", he tweeted.

His tweet was actually an explanation of his earlier statement, where he said that Cyberpunk 2077 "is absolutely not coming out this year".

So, the general consensus is that CDPR will launch Cyberpunk 2077 in 2020, and their plan for E3 demonstration behind closed doors sort of confirms that, suggesting the dev is close to the finish line - but not quite there yet.

Of course, we'll be seeing a public Cyberpunk 2077 demo at E3 too, and it's not a prerecorded one either - both demos will be played by devs live and will feature previously unseen material.

Knowing CDPR though, it's likely that they'll do the same thing they did last year, i.e. release the Cyberpunk 2077 demos we've all so eagerly anticipated for the public a few days later, once the E3 dust has settled. Well, at least we're hoping they will.

A Slovakian website recently posted a listing that said Cyberpunk 2077 will be available as of 28 November 2019 , and a similar timeframe was given by Bilcom, CDPR's publisher in Turkey.

In fact, Bilcom said at the time that players needn't worry as they will get to play Cyberpunk 2077 in 2019, but that tweet is long gone now of course.

One thing is for certain - Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most eagerly anticipated games around and we can't wait to see how far along CDPR are, both in terms of the game and its performance.

After all, their E3 demo ran 30 FPS on two GTX 1080Ti, which isn't exactly stellar.
