Crutches for NCPD's shoddy work persist in the newest patch but at least the console players get to enjoy Cyberpunk 2077.
When Cyberpunk 2077 launched, the game was in such a bad state on consoles that it was sometimes downright unplayable. However, patch 1.2 seems to have dealt with this issue finally, even on base console version.
The Night City Wire presentations for PS4 and Xbox One were done on the upgraded consoles, Pro and X, respectively, but it appears that owners of base consoles can finally enjoy the game with more or less smooth gameplay. You can check out a fairly extensive video of a player driving around Night City while running the game on PS4 Slim.
Still, the video below shows hiccups on an occasion or two but most of the gameplay was smooth enough to be enjoyed and a far cry from those dreadful framerates in low double digits.
One thing the gigantic patch didn't change, however, is the poor police system. The devs touched upon it briefly, by making them spawn somewhat further than before but under some circumstances, the cops will still spawn right behind V's back or just around a corner.
While the writing and environment building keep carrying CP2077, the gameplay systems still leave a lot to be desired, as you can see in the next video.
