Witcher devs introduce all in one gaming app GOG Galaxy 2.0

CD Projekt, the creators of The Witcher series have revealed a new, improved version of their GOG Galaxy application. GOG Galaxy 2.0 aims to connect all PC and console launchers, games, friends, achievements and more under one roof.

GOG, the PC platform famous for its anti-DRM protection policies and its developer - CD Projekt RED, have announced a new version of their GOG Galaxy application, named simply GOG Galaxy 2.0.

The new app will give users a way to connect and combine all their PC and console games, friends, achievements into one place. Players will be able to build and organise one huge games collection and keep track of all their achievements, hours played and games owned, combined across platforms.

On top of this, you will be able to create custom library views by filtering, sorting, tagging and adding your own visuals like game backgrounds and covers.

To reach and compete with your friends from other platforms like Steam or Origin, GOG Galaxy 2.0 will have implemented cross-platform chat, leaderboards and Activity Feed, where you can see your friends' cross-platform achievements, game time milestones and recently played games.

GOG will support all platforms including PC launchers such as Steam, Epic Games Store, Uplay and others, Xbox One but the company also aims to include PlayStation 4 and Switch.

They already have access to Sony's API and according to Gamespot, who had a chance to try the app, the page of PS4 exclusive God of War included "a detailed record of trophies, both locked and unlocked, and their logos and descriptions".

According to the official description, GOG won't spy on their users and will never share your personal data with third parties. They also claim that players will be able to erase their imported data from GOG servers with a simple click.

GOG Galaxy 2.0's closed beta is coming soon but there is no specific release date just yet. You can sign up on the official .

All in all, GOG Galaxy 2.0 is looking like every gamer's dream and hopefully, it also works that way so we can finally stop talking about the launcher wars that bore most of us to death.
