Capcom's Home Arcade announced, comes with 16 classics

Japanese publisher and developer Capcom have announced a brand new plug and play machine named Capcom Home Arcade. The mini-console comes with sixteen classic games including two Street Fighter titles and it will launch on 25 October 2019.

Capcom's big announcement, which was teased yesterday, is a brand new plug and play arcade machine named Capcom Home Arcade it's been officially confirmed by the Japanese company. 

Capcom partnered up with Austrian publisher Koch Media to develop the new mini-console that they call the "ultimate home arcade experience”. The machine is scheduled to launch on 25 October 2019 in Europe, and it's currently available for pre-order on Capcom Store. It costs €229.99 and it comes with sixteen, golden-age arcade classics:

  • 1944: The Loop Master
  • Alien vs. Predator
  • Armored Warriors
  • Capcom Sports Club
  • Captain Commando
  • Cyberbots: Full Metal Madness
  • Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors
  • Eco Fighters
  • Final Fight
  • Ghouls’n Ghosts
  • Giga Wing
  • Mega Man: The Power Battle
  • Progear
  • Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting
  • Strider
  • Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo

These games are from the original Capcom CPS1 and CPS2 arcade ROMs with emulation provided by FB Alpha for an authentic and accurate arcade experience.

As for the North America release, Capcom and Koch Media are yet to reveal details, but it's probably only a matter of time before we get an announcement for the release date and pre-order.

Capcom Home Arcade will feature two full-sized sticks and two sets of buttons so you can play in head to head multiplayer or co-op along with singleplayer. You will be able to upload your scores via the console's onboard WiFi to Capcom's Leaderboard to see how you match up against other players across the globe.

Capcom say that the console features a simple plug-and-play system meaning that you'll only have to connect the supplied HDMI cable from Capcom Home Arcade to your TV, and the supplied USB cable to a USB power supply and voila, you're ready to taste some arcade action.
