Call of Duty: Warzone now has a brand new Pacific map named Caldera, which will replace the existing map Verdansk. As you may know, if you play Warzone, Verdansk was in the game from the start and it mostly stayed the same with some minor changes to the design.
If you enjoyed playing on Verdansk, you are probably disappointed to see the map removed for a prettier Pacific setting. But is there any chance that Verdansk actually returns to Warzone at some point? Well, it does seem that Verdansk will not be gone forever.
The current version of Verdansk will probably never return to Warzone - the map could receive a significant overhaul and design change and only then return to Warzone.
"Warzone will be preparing for the end of Verdansk as we know it," it's written in the blog post on Activision's official website.
Additionally, Here's what Activision say about the End of Verdansk event:
"Expect a spectacular and fitting end to your time in Verdansk as we say farewell to the Kastovian city… forever?"
The publisher clearly imply that Verdansk may not be gone forever. To be fair, it would be a weird decision to simply shelve the map for good, after spending so much time developing it.
We are almost certain that Verdansk will be returning to Warzone in some way. Our guess would be that the map will receive an overhaul with some big changes before Activision decide to re-introduce it again.
