The latest job listing on Activision's website suggests that the publisher may have plans to port their free to play battle royale Call of Duty: Warzone to mobile, both Android and iOS.
It looks like Call of Duty: Warzone could become the second Call of Duty game on mobile devices. According to the latest job listing, found on Activision's official website, the company is looking for an Executive Producer for WZM, which could be an abbreviation for Warzone Mobile.
Furthermore, a detailed description of the job opening states that the ideal candidate would work on a new mobile first-person shooter in the Call of Duty franchise. Check out the full description below:
"As Executive Producer, Features you will own product framing and player experience of a new AAA mobile FPS in the Call of Duty franchise. Developing in collaboration with multiple Activision studio locations around the world, this leader is a skilled communicator and development leader who can define and harvest the important elements..."
The job listing has been quickly deleted from the website but thanks to a well-known leaker TheGamingRevolution, we have a screenshot of the page:
At the moment, Activision are yet to officially comment on the matter but since the listing got deleted from the page instantly, it seems that it's only a matter of time before we find out more about the project.
With Warzone Mobile, Activision would have two Call of Duty games on the mobile platform and given how successful Call of Duty Mobile has been so far, it's safe to assume that Tencent are the prime candidate for yet another mobile port.
Thanks, TheGamingRevolution.
