It seems that Treyarch could soon introduce a major addition to Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Zombies. According to leaks, there's a new mode coming with an open-world map.
Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War's standard multiplayer modes may not be as popular as Modern Warfare's back when Infinity Ward's shooter launched but the successful introduction of Zombies mode is what many fans of the franchise are grateful for.
Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War's Zombies recently got new content and as expected, Treyarch will continue to add more and more stuff in the upcoming, post-launch updates.
In one of these future updates, the devs could introduce the rumoured Outbreak mode, which is yet to be officially confirmed. This mode will reportedly add an open-world Zombies map, which would certainly be an exciting new feature.
Reddit user margwa_ points out that the existence of such a map has been supported by the in-game intel, which mentions how fireteams were sent to the Ural Mountains to deal with the largest outbreak of zombies that was 0% contained, as well as had dangerous zombies.
Additionally, we have some new details that have been found by data miners. The Outbreak will be featured in both Cold War and Warzone with a set of challenges that which reward players with one blueprint per set.
On top of this, data miners found proof of elite enemies Megatons and special enemies mimics and manglers. An option to exfil and challenge for it will be featured and apparently, the open world will be similar to Destiny's free-roam areas with world events and missions.
As always with leaks and rumours, we suggest you take this one with a grain of salt, since it's not coming from Activision's official channels.
