Activision are set to announce the next Call of Duty game in the upcoming months but while we wait, there's a lot of fresh rumours that have revealed some interesting bits from the game's story and setting. We know that the game will be a soft reboot of the Black Ops franchise with some reports suggesting the title of the game will be Call of Duty: Vietnam or simply Black Ops.
Today, a new rumour over at Reddit has surfaced and it has a couple of new details about the game.
First off, the game will apparently be called either Call of Duty: Classified or Call of Duty: Black Ops and will primarily be set in Vietnam with some "offshoots" in other Cold War-era locations. It revolves around the uncovering of cover Soviet operations and human experimentation. Furthermore, the story will incorporate CIA Operatives Alex Mason, Frank Woods, and Jason Hudson, although they will not be playable characters.
The first mission will put you in the boots of US infantry unit, which is being attacked in the dead of the night by Vietcong forces. The mission emphasize stealth gameplay after the initial attack according to the rumour.
Last but not least, the story will have visceral elements with gore, torture scenes and more.
