Breeze joined VALORANT's map pool in patch 2.08, becoming the sixth map in rotation and the third new addition post-global release. While its straightforward layout earned it a warm reception from the VALORANT community, criticisms arose regarding its simplicity and emphasis on aiming. The A Hall area, in particular, limited strategic plays for both teams.
Despite being relatively balanced, Breeze underwent various adjustments since its introduction. Eventually, Riot removed Breeze from the map pool during Episode 6 Act 1 to refine its design.
With VALORANT Champions 2023 on the horizon, Riot Games plans substantial map changes, driven by statistics and the evolving meta. Episode 7 Act 2 marks the return of Breeze to the map pool, accompanied by a slew of revealed changes.
