Bloodroots - Paper Cult's latest action game is set to launch in the tail end of February 2020. The game focuses on a classic old West-style story of betrail and revenge. The players will have to improvise creative ways to kill their foes and the four bosses.

Paper Cult - the developer studio behind the fast-paced action game Bloodroots just announced that the title will appear on the virtual shelves on 28 February 2020. Bloodroots will launch for PlayStation 4 , Nintendo Switch  and PC.

The PC version of the game will be available via the Epic Games Store for £15.99 ($19.99 USD €15.99). Bloodroots is currently available for pre-order on the Epic Games Store with a 10 per cent off limited time discount*.

The dev team also shared that they brought Nick Suttner (Guacamelee 2, Celeste) on board to help flesh out and write the game’s characters and dialogues.

The game's story goes something like this: Mr Wolf - the protagonist  - has been betrayed but miraculously survives and swears revenge on the Blood beast gang that raided his village.

As the player goes through the game and eliminates the gang's members: Mr Black Wolf, Mr Boar, Ms Bison and Mrs Crow, their spirits will start appearing around their campfire and start telling them their backstories. The player can choose to listen to the stories of his fallen enemies or go out there and spill some more blood.

Features:

  • A world overflowing with makeshift weapons that not only change the way you fight but how you get around
  • Improvise the most deadly combos and compete for fame on worldwide leaderboards
  • Fight your way through a variety of handcrafted levels, from forests to mountaintops
  • Experience a twisted Western revenge tale with a deranged cast of characters

Bloodroots has spent three years in its development stage and will now launch for PlayStation 4, Switch and PC on 28 February 2020.
