EA DICE sent out email invites for the first Battlefield 2042 playtest which included PC requirements but they leaked and made public which may or may not have been against the rules.
Battlefield 2042 playtest is coming next week and the email invite that noted its contents are confidential. The warning didn't last long as a deterrent and the PC minimum and recommended requirements were revealed soon after. Without further ado, let's get into the specs.
Battlefield 2042 PC minimum requirements
- CPU - AMD FX-8350 or Intel Core i5-6600K
- GPU - AMD RX 580 or Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
- RAM - 8GB
- OS - Windows 10
- DirectX 12
Overall, the minimum requirements are rather cosy since the listed components are fairly dated and even when they were new on the market, they were middle of the pack and closer to a lower tier.
Battlefield 2042 PC recommended specs
- CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or Intel Core i7-4790
- GPU - AMD RX 5600 XT or Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060
- RAM - 16GB
- OS - Windows 10
- DirectX 12
Recommended specs for BF2042 are nothing to be afraid of either but the users of GTX 10 series will probably be uncomfortable to learn their GPUs are not listed in the recommended specs. That said, keep in mind that a GTX 1070 can dish out almost the same performance as RTX 2060, minus the raytracing features which, let's be honest, you're not going to use anyway since stable frame rate is much more important in competitive shooters than additional eye candy.
