Assassin's Creed: Valhalla map, which features a part of Norway and a big chunk of England will be approximately the same size as the map in previous Assassin's Creed game - Odyssey.
Whether you love it or not, the map size has become one of the biggest features in Assassin's Creed games. Both Origins and Odyssey had gigantic open worlds which is not something that all players appreciated. Many felt that Assassin's Creed franchise would be much better with a smaller, more linear approach but we doubt Ubisoft will return to that formula anytime soon.
One thing is for certain, Assassin's Creed: Valhalla will continue the trend of large open worlds in Ubisoft games. The developer already confirmed that Valhalla's map size will be huge but the exact size is something that Ubisoft refused to comment on.
However, thanks to the latest video from Laymen Gaming, we now know that Valhalla's map will be similar in size to Odyssey. "The developers have said specifically that the map is roughly the same size as Odyssey," YouTuber SkillUp said.
In some of the screenshots that appeared recently, we also got to see some of the parts of the map. It's mostly around East Anglia since the hands-on preview build is set around this particular region.
All in all, it looks like Valhalla will be a proper game for those who enjoyed Origins and Odyssey but not so much for those who love older Assassin's Creed games.
Assassin's Creed: Valhalla is officially hitting the shelves on November 17, 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game will also arrive to Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 as well as Google Stadia.
