According to a reliable industry analyst and insider ZhugeEX, the next Assassin's Creed game will not be named Ragnarok and most of the leaks and rumours are completely off the mark.
Over the last couple of weeks, numerous leaks and rumours about Ubisoft's next Assassin's Creed title have started to surface. We know from some reliable reports that the game will be Viking-themed with a codename Kingdom but the recent leaks reveal much more details about the characters, story and the open world.
However, according to the latest info from a reliable industry analyst and insider ZhugeEX, the majority of these leaked details are actually not true. He wrote on that the next game is not even named Ragnarok.
"For what it’s worth. All of the new AC leaks so far have been incorrect. It’s not even called Ragnarok. Sure. Some of the details are right. Like improved combat or whatever. But in general, they’re not that accurate," he explained.
Later in the thread, he explained that most of these leaks are based on Kotaku's report, which revealed the Viking-themed setting. "These recent leaks are based on the original AC Kingdom leak from Kotaku itself. So some of it is true or not far off the truth. But mostly it’s a bunch of educated guesses," ZhugeEx concluded.
Now, nothing has been announced or confirmed by Ubisoft so take everything, including the leaks and ZhugeEx claims, with a grain of salt. Assassin's Creed series have a history of leaks just a couple of months before the official announcement so it wouldn't surprise us if the leaks are true.
On the other hand, ZhugeEx first claims that all of the leaks have been incorrect and immediately backtracks with "some of it it's true" which doesn't sound pretty confident.
