Respawn Entertainment announced the Genesis Collection event for Apex Legends where we will be able to farm up a bunch of juicy cosmetics and go back in time, sort of, by revisiting older maps.
King's Canyon and World's Edge are returning in their base forms on June 29, 2021, when the Genesis Collection event kicks in. It will run for two weeks and the official announcement page showcases a bunch of cool stuff we will be getting including the aforementioned maps and new cosmetics.
The two maps will alternate on a one-hour cycle and they will look like the King's Canyon from Apex Legends launch and World's Edge from Season 3. Furthermore, the devs are bringing Skull Town to arenas so King's Canyon is seeping into other modes and let's hope it's staying there - fans have been practically begging to have it in the newest game mode.
On the side of cosmetics, there will be 24 new items to obtain through either direct purchase with Apex Coins or Crafting mats or with Genesis Event Apex Packs that will around until Genesis ends. Upon unlocking all the items, players will be awarded the Revenant Heirloom set.
Revenant and Lifeline also received a hitbox update while a pile of other balance and quality of life changes will be introduced as well.
