2K Games have confirmed that the one-more-turn monstrosity Civilization VI will be coming to Nintendo's Switch consoles on 16 November 2018, along with four pieces of additional content and four civs exclusive to Nintendo's platform.
So, Switch owners will be getting Polish, Australian, Persian and Macedonian civilisations and scenario packs, while Vikings will come as scenario pack only. I guess it's a fair warning to let players finish up what work they have until November, after which their life traditionally devolves into series of damage control manoeuvres.
Note that this does not include the expansion, which you should expect to follow soon enough, but the vanilla version of Civilization VI. This means you'll be getting 24 different leaders and civs along with the four added especially for Nintendoists.
In case you're not familiar with the series but like strategies and own a Switch, then you're in for a treat as you can't go much better than Sid Meier's Civilization franchise. I'm talking about a slow paced, hexagonal field-based, turn based strategy, that will still manage to keep you glued to the screen until the morning, hence the game's One More Turn legacy. You'll see.
To be fair, Civilization series has long been requested by Nintendo fans, since it seemed like a perfect match with the big little Switch. It was rumoured to be in the works but now we've got an official confirmation.
Peculiarly enough, 2K's announcement actually links to a YouTube video that's missing, so I'm not sure what sort of magic went down there exactly. Did someone take down their video? Or did the announcement go out too early? At the time of writing, I can't find the trailer on any official outlet, but you might have better luck than me.
Having said that, Civilization isn't quite the game you play for trailers so you might as well ignore what you see - the real dangers and Civilization Anonymous addiction material lies beneath. Like I said, you'll see.
