LPL Spring Play-Off finals concluded as the tight series between JDG and TES went full length of five matches, making it the only regional final to do so.
JDG performed consistently over the entire Spring Split of the 2020 season in LPL while their opponents in the Play-Off finals were the polar opposite. Top Esports were hanging around the middle of the table for a long while but as the split was drawing to a close, they reinforced the ranks with JackeyLove, the former iG member and world champion marksman.
Onto the series, JDG opened the series with a win in the first match. The 35-minute-long game may look one-sided on the kill count but TES snagged two dragons themselves and were only one turret behind until the very end, with the nexus turrets kicking the difference up to three.
It didn't take them long to retaliate though as the second game went in TES' favour. It was almost the same as the first one, with numbers reversed. It wrapped up just as the timer passed the 34-minute mark.
Things started looking grim for JDG when TES took the third game and overtook them with the lead, especially because the team seemingly broke following a monster play by JackeyLove and Knight. You can see this particular highlight at 18:15 mark in the video below.
The mental break did not happen though. JDG regrouped and took games four and five in order to secure the closest regional finals in the season thus far.
Despite not being able to grab the title of Spring champion, TES don't have much reason to be disappointed. JackeyLove proved to be a fantastic investment as the team looked unstoppable in the latter part of the split as well as the Play-Offs. It took JDG to stop the rampage and even so, they barely managed it.
