T1 didn't manage to qualify for Worlds 2020 and the legendary League of Legends team will be looking for a new coach as Kim "Kim" Jeong-soo officially resigned.

Season 10 wasn't exactly great for T1 since the team had extremely tough competition at the top of LCK. During the Spring Split, DragonX and Gen. G were in great shape and the three teams ended up at the top of the ladder with 14-4 score but T1 wouldn't be able to properly separate themselves from the competition until the Playoffs which they won in dominant fashion.

From that point on, it was all shaky for T1 throughout the Summer Split and they eventually ended in 4th place behind the two rivals from Spring and the new dominant force in the league, Damwon Gaming. Things became worse when Summer Playoffs ended in the first round for T1 after they got knocked out by Afreeca Freecs.

Regional Finals started to look like the second wind T1 needed but the run with rookies was cut short when Gen. G beat them with a clean sweep, resulting in T1 not qualifying for World Championship 2020.

Turbulence inside the team was felt heavily at this point and it was no longer the question of whether some changes would happen but rather who would be replaced.

In the days leading up to the Worlds 2020 boot camp for the teams that qualified, rumours started spreading about coach Kim either getting fired or resigning from the position. The latter was confirmed on September 13, 2020, when both the team and the coach announced the end of the cooperation.

There are rumours of the separation not being done on good terms but there are currently no official accounts that corroborate the story as Kim also announced that he took responsibility for the team not making it to the most prestigious tournament of the year and decided to step down as a result.
