Having invested approximately twenty hours in the PC version and around 40 hours on the PlayStation 5, I was under the impression that defeating the main boss in Remnant 2 would be a breeze. However, I couldn't have been more mistaken. The reality was quite the opposite, as I found myself repeating this boss fight a staggering 50 times before finally achieving victory.

How to beat Annihilation in Remnant 2
In the final boss battle of Remnant 2, preparation plays a pivotal role. When facing a boss, the game automatically sets the boss's power level three levels above your current power level. For instance, if you were at power level 11, the boss would be at power level 14. Our recommendation is to attempt the boss fight, even if you die, and then focus on levelling up to at least match the boss's power level. By doing so, you significantly increase your chances of achieving victory.
Increasing your power level in Remnant 2 primarily involves upgrading your weapons. It is advisable to prioritise the weapons you frequently use and upgrade them whenever possible. Engaging in co-op gameplay offers the most efficient way to level up since it provides access to essential resources required for upgrading your gear.
Once you've finished levelling and are ready to face the boss again, keep two key tips in mind. Firstly, aim for the boss's head, particularly between the horns, as that's where it's most vulnerable and takes the most damage. Alternatively, if possible, directly target the horns to deal significant damage during the boss fight.
The most crucial tip, secondly, is to execute precise dodges. Listen carefully for the sharp sound of steel, as it indicates the boss's incoming attack. Dodge at that precise moment to effectively avoid the boss's assault and improve your chances of survival during the encounter.
The main challenge with this boss fight arises from its two distinct phases, especially when the second phase initiates, causing a significant shift in the scenario. Adapting to these changes becomes exceptionally difficult. When the boss's health drops below half in the second phase, the transition from the first to the second phase complicates the fight even further.
A crucial tip is to listen attentively to the sounds of the boss's attacks, which may sometimes be obscured by other sounds, making them hard to recognize. However, the sound of the attack always maintains its sharpness, allowing you to identify and evade it successfully, thus increasing your chances of survival.
Another crucial tip to consider is avoiding attempting this boss fight in co-op, even though it may seem easier with others by your side. Co-op play can lead to confusion and hinder your ability to focus on directly attacking the boss. When the boss is targeting another player, it becomes exceedingly challenging to land hits on it, making the fight much more difficult. It's generally best to face this formidable foe solo to maintain better control and coordination during the encounter.
Lastly, the most effective archetype combination for this boss fight is Handler+Medic. The Medic archetype provides a significant advantage in terms of healing during the intense battle, while the dog companion from the Handler archetype proves invaluable. If you happen to fall in combat, the dog can revive you, providing an extra chance to continue the fight while also granting additional healing support. This combination is a powerful asset in the challenging encounter with the final boss.
