Redfall will have four playable characters on launch, with more coming later in post-launch updates. Each character in Redfall will have their own unique weapon, skills and abilities.

Arkane Studios' upcoming open-world vampire shooter Redfall is one of the hotly anticipated titles this year, especially for Xbox fans, who get to play it exclusively on the Xbox Series X|S consoles.

Redfall is a co-op game at its core but can also be played entirely solo if that's your preference. On launch, this Bethesda title will have a total of four playable characters for you to choose from.

Each character is uniquely designed to support different gameplay mechanics and combining the character's abilities in co-op combat is what should make Redfall stand out. In this guide, we'll explain in detail everything you need to know about Redfall's four characters.

Redfall characters

Devinder Dev Crousley

Arkane describe Devinder Crousley as an author, brilliant inventor and self-styled "cryptid-hunter". Dev has found some measure of internet fame through his expeditions and learnings. He was in Redfall to promote his latest book when the vampires cut the island off from the outside world, leaving him stranded.

His studies have granted him the knowledge he needs to craft his anti-vampire weaponry. His special gadget can turn several vampires into stone and it's very useful when your ambushed by a group of these blood sucking beasts.

Layla Ellison

Layal came to Redfall to study biomedical engineering at Redfall Technical University and was immediately struck by disaster… in the form of immense student debt. To alleviate some of her monetary troubles (and to hopefully get help for her recurring migraines), she volunteered for a medical trial at a local tech company, Aevum Therapeutics.

Of course, nothing can just go smoothly for Layla, and a strange sequence of events during her trial granted her superpowers. Layla's ability allows her to create things with her mind, including a protective shield and a platform that launches players in the air.

Jacob Boyer

Jacob entered the military as soon as he was old enough, rising through the ranks and eventually becoming part of a covert Special Forces unit, where he undertook a series of recon and combat assignments.

Upon his discharge, Jacob joined up with Bellweather, a private military company that took on contracts for governments and corporations around the world. It was one such corporation that brought his unit to Redfall under mysterious orders known only to his superiors.

Bethesda Redfall - Remi De La Rosa and her trusty robot Redfall - Remi De La Rosa and her trusty robot

Remi De La Rosa

Arkane say Remi is a brilliant engineer and robotics specialist. Her determination to protect the people around her led her to join the Coast Guard, where she served on the frontlines of disasters. During her time in the Coast Guard, she developed Bribón, a highly advanced robot designed to be a decoy, cover and attack drone all in one.

Because of her experience as a robotics expert, she often travelled to different Coast Guard bases training them in remote-operated search-and-rescue technology, which is how she ended up in Redfall. Now she’s faced with a disaster unlike any she’s ever encountered before.
