Redfall won't have 60 FPS Performance mode on launch but its retail boxes mention such a feature, so Bethesda had to slap a last-minute sticker for clarification.

Earlier this month, Arkane Studios officially confirmed that Redfall will launch without a 60 FPS performance mode on the Xbox Series X|S console, which was a major disappointment for the Xbox community awaiting this vampire shooter.

However, the studio did say that they are working hard to include it as soon as possible in the post-launch patch. Since the confirmation of the news came so close to the release, even after the actual retail copies have started printing, Bethesda and Xbox had to put stickers on the cases to clarify that Redfall won't have 60 FPS at launch.

As you can see in the photo below, shared by WindowsCentral journalist Jez Corden, Redfall boxes for Xbox consoles still mention 60 FPS Performance mode, even though it's been confirmed a couple of weeks ago that such mode is not in the game on launch.

You'll also notice the sticker in the upper left corner which states the following: "60 FPS Performance mode not available at launch". It seems that Xbox had to do these at the last minute since having 60 FPS on the box, without a notice saying it's not available at launch could be seen as false advertising, which can result in lawsuits.

It's certainly a darn shame that Arkane couldn't optimise Redfall for 60 FPS for launch but as long as an update with the performance mode comes right after launch, and the 30 FPS mode is actually a solid 30 FPS, it won't be a complete disaster for this new Arkane experience.

Redfall is officially hitting the shelves on May 2, 2023, for PC and Xbox Series X|S and Game Pass. For more Redfall content, check out the stories below:
