Redfall is finally set to launch next week and starting today, those who pre-ordered or have Xbox Game Pass on PC or Xbox Series X|S, can start pre-loading the game to their devices. For those who are not familiar with the pre-loading term, it basically means you can download and install the game before launch, so once the servers are live, you can dive in straight away, without having to download the game once it's live.
And given the size of the actual download in GBs, those with slower internet speeds will certainly appreciate that Arkane Studios' vampire shooter is available for pre-order this early.
The download size on the Xbox app on PC is a whopping 95 GB, while on the Xbox Series X console is at 78 GB. The Series S version is the smallest at 42 GB, which makes sense since it probably doesn't have 4K textures.
We are yet to see the comparison between these versions as Redfall reviews and tech breakdown are to come closer to launch, perhaps a day or two before the release. We can only presume that the PC version is the one that looks and runs the best since it's already been confirmed that the Xbox version won't have 60 FPS on launch.
Redfall is certainly one of the biggest releases for Xbox this year so hopefully, the launch goes smoothly for the devs and publisher.
Redfall is officially launching on May 2, 2023, exclusively for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Game Pass.
