Marvel Rivals: Squirrel Girl 101
Let us begin with a rundown of Squirrel Girl in Marvel Rivals. Squirrel Girl is a duellist character with the ability to take long and short-range gunfights. Here's a complete overview of Squirrel Girl's move set:
- Abilities
- Burst Acorn: Her primary fire, Burst Acorn, is a large projectile in an arc that explodes on contact or after bouncing twice, dealing high damage. This projectile is incredibly versatile as it can bounce off any surface, giving Squirrel Girls a means to dish out damage without putting herself at risk by using terrain advantage.
- Squirrel Blockade: Her secondary fire, Squirrel Blockade, launches a large projectile that deals direct damage and briefly imprisons the target. This ability can be charged to increase the projectile speed.
- Tail Bounce: Tail Bounce is Squirrel Girl's main mobility tool, launching her directly upwards with triple her normal jump height.
- Mammal Bond: Mammal Bond instantly reloads her Burst Acorn and allows her to use Squirrel Blockade or Tail Bounce once without triggering a cooldown.
- Unbeatable Squirrel Tsunami (Ultimate): Her Ultimate, Unbeatable Squirrel Tsunami, summons a horde of squirrels to charge forward. The player can aim in the direction they want the stampede to move. The horde will bounce off walls and terrain.
- When paired with Spider-Man, Squirrel Girl gains access to Webbed Acorn, which can be shot at enemies to deal damage and imprison them. This ability can root multiple enemies.Enemies don't need to be hit directly; any target caught within the radius if the acorn hits the ground will be ensnared.
How to Play Squirrel Girl
Squirrel Girl is highly effective at medium to long-range fights with her acorns, dealing AOE (area of explosion) damage. Her Burst Acorn deals high damage at impact at all ranges. Her secondary fire Squirrel Blockade is useful for stunning opponents at a place, which is similar to Peni Parker's Spider-Web. When using her Burst Acorn and Squirrel Blockade, try using her Mammal Bond, which will allow you to launch two consecutive Squirrel Blockades, allowing you to immobilise two enemies at the same time.
You should use her Tail Bounce to get to higher spots on the map or escape a crowded situation, especially during retaking an objective site. Her Unbeatable Squirrel Tsunami is a very tricky ultimate to use in most situations; however, while testing her abilities, we found her ultimate to be effective against crowded opponents in an objective site. When ejecting her ultimate, make sure to set the projectile path in such a way that it bounces off multiple walls dealing high damage numbers.
