NetEase Games has introduced a 33-character roster for Marvel Rivals with characters like Spider-Man, Dr Strange, and Punisher. These characters are divided into three sub-classes, Duelists, Vanguards, and Strategists. From the Duelist sub-class, the Punisher is a unique character that caters to almost all beginner and intermediate players. Here's how to play Punisher in Marvel Rivals.
Marvel Rivals: Punisher 101
Let us begin with a rundown of Punisher in Marvel Rivals. The Punisher is a duellist character with the ability to take long and short-range gunfights. Here's a complete overview of Punisher's move set:
- Weapons
- Adjudication is Punisher's full automatic assault rifle with a 30 magazine size. With hitscan abilities, this assault rifle is an immaculate option for players to use in medium- to long-range fights.
- Deliverance is Punisher's pump shotgun with an 8 magazine size. With damage dropoff at longer ranges, this shotgun is your trusted option for all close-range gunfights.
- Abilities
- Vantage Connection: This ability is Punisher's mobility option. The Vantage Connection gives Punisher the ability to cross certain distances quickly and reach high places. Moreover, the zipline connection also gives you a momentary boost when you are done using the zipline.
- Culling Turret: The Culling Turret is Punisher's strongest ability that allows him to deploy a stationary turret with a 200 magazine size and 600 health. You can keep firing the turret and dealing massive amounts of damage in quick succession.
- Scourge Grenade: The Scourage Grenade is a smoke grenade that is fired from a small grenade launcher. When the smoke is deployed, you can quickly vanish from the line of sight of other players and also see them through the smoke for a small period of time.
- Warrior's Gaze: The Warrior's Gaze is Punisher's passive that allows you to see other players through walls for a certain duration even when they disappear.
How to play Punisher
The Punisher is a great duelist choice for Quick Match and Competitive game mode. Now if you have an understanding of Punisher's moveset, then let's begin with how to play the characters across all game modes. For medium to long-range gunfights, you will mostly rely on the assault rifle and turret. When you move to close-range engagements, you will switch to the shotgun; the shotgun will almost always melt tanks, duelists, and strategists in the blink of an eye.
For mobility and navigation during the match, you will rely on Scourge Grenade and Vantage Connection. You can use the zipline of the mobility ability to move to higher places or cross a certain distance quickly. On the contrary, you can use the Scourage Grenade to block your opponent's vision and move out to a safe place. While using Punisher, you must utilise your passive and hide behind cover from time to time to get a general outline of your opponents movement throughout the match.
