Lies of P is an extremely hard game. In most cases, in this Souls-like RPG adventure from Neowiz Games, you will be tempted by extremely difficult battles, not only with bosses that are standardly difficult in all games of this genre but also with mini-boss battles that are sometimes more challenging than the main bosses in other games.
Within each level, you'll encounter one or two optional mini-bosses. These encounters provide players with the choice to either confront them or bypass them. While these mini-bosses are notably challenging to defeat, the rewards reaped from their defeat typically justify the effort invested.
In the Malum District, just before the main boss encounter, you'll encounter a particularly challenging mini-boss. If you're struggling to defeat this mini-boss, here are some helpful tips and strategies, along with details on the loot you can expect to obtain after you manage to defeat him.
How to beat mini-boss in Malum District
Upon fast travelling to the Malum District, head to the right of the Stargazer and follow the path. Engage and eliminate a few standard enemies along the way until you arrive at a bar. Inside, you'll encounter a tough enemy brandishing a bottle of alcohol. You have the option to either defeat her or run past her, depending on your preference. Proceed up the stairs and follow the only available route, which will eventually lead you to a courtyard filled with water patrolled by the mini-boss.
To overcome this mini-boss, it's essential to make some preparations. It's advisable to sprint past the mini-boss to reach the opposite side of the courtyard. Follow the path to the left, which will guide you to a water-filled room with a centrally located ladder. Ascend this ladder, exit the room, and thereby unlock a shortcut back to the courtyard. This strategic move allows you to temporarily bypass the mini-boss, a decision that will prove beneficial during the upcoming encounter.
Proceed onward and go up the stairs; this path will guide you to the Red Lobster Inn, a location inhabited by both ordinary and tough enemies. Overcome them, and in the next room, climb a ladder. At the top, you'll encounter a black market merchant who can supply you with the essential materials required to easily defeat the mini-boss.
Buy three sharp pipes, three cluster grenades, and three shot puts from him and put them on your belt. Now retrace the steps to reach the flooded courtyard, prepare one of the throwables, and sprint past the mini-boss into the alley you unlocked earlier. He will follow you. Lock on him and start throwing throwables at him, but only when he gets close enough. Those nine throwables will be more than enough to stagger him. When that happens, quickly approach him and use a charged heavy attack, followed by the fatal attack.
If you've done exactly as we said, maybe only a hit or two will be required to kill this mini-boss. Once he is dealt with, he will drop a very useful Patience Amulet that will increase stamina recovery speed. This amulet will be extremely useful in the upcoming fight with this level's main bosses.
