If you're here, you're struggling with the first proper skill check boss in Hollow Knight Silksong. It's fine, I've found it Sister Splinter to be hard too, but I came away with some very important findings that can help you overcome this boss easier.
How to beat Sister Splinter in Hollow Knight Silksong?
Two things before we start: Make sure you have the "Silkspear" ability equipped, as this will be a key part of the fight. And be aggressive. This boss will tear you apart if you're playing it safe, so right from the get-go, you need to be as fast and efficient as possible.
At the beginning of the fight, there's not much to worry about. Sister Splinter will use only one attack, and that's the claw attack, which is easy to dodge. Since the boss will strike with right and left hands repeatedly, my advice would be to dodge to the left if she's attacking with her right arm and dodge to the right if she's using her left arm. This isn't crucial to do, but it will give you more space to attack between her attacks, as you'll probably notice when you start doing it.
And obviously, destroy the splinters if you feel there's not enough room to manoeuvre.
Once you hit her several times, she will get stunned and fall to the ground. I recommend you keep hitting her with the normal attack while she is on the ground and save your Silkspear ability for what comes next.
As she rises up again, this is a key opportunity to attack her as much as possible since she won't do anything for five or six seconds. There's no danger here so keep striking her until she shrieks and spawns two mobs called Splinterbarks.
Now, this is one of the most important parts of the fight. Use the Silkspear ability (R1 button on PS5 controller) to kill the two Splinterbarks. It's a one-hit kill - you can even kill both of the mobs with one strike, but that's a bit harder since you need to avoid the first Splinterbark attack and get them both to one part of the arena. Check out the image below to see what I'm talking about.
Killing both with one strike is the perfect scenario, but it's not something you have to do. Using two Silkspear attacks to kill the mobs one by one is totally fine. The key is to get rid of them as soon as possible.
From that point, the boss will reappear and continue with its claw attacks. She will also continue spawning Splinterbarks, so get rid of them as soon as they appear. Sometimes she'll spawn only one mob, making it easier to deal with.
Another important thing to note is that you need to constantly attack the boss to build the bar for Silkspear attacks, as these are key in managing the fight.
You'll have to stun the boss four or five times to beat it. And before we wrap up, another obvious thing: once she fills up the room with those huge splinters, destroy those in the middle, as that's where you'll find it easier to fight her due to the splinters on the edges of the arena.
